PHILOSOPHY OF SCHOOL OF NURSING

The basic course in nursing will prepare nurses for first level position in nursing in both hospitals and the community. practice of nursing requires a good understanding of basic scientific principles and advances in sciences and technology as well as available resources influence it. we believe that substantial portion of the nursing learning is acquired in the clinical area .The student will be helped to develop a scene of pride in their profession and to have a desire to continue to learn and teach themselves throughout their lives

OBJECTIVES:

GENERAL INFORMATION

Pre-requisites for Nursing Proceeding admission students are amidst the new environment with enormous deliberations expected to them as new entrant to the professional course. the strength of any profession lies on the quality has direct bearing on the educational preparation of its practitioners. The availability of good and dedicated profession is one of the paramount requirements of today. The essential of dedication, Compassion, honesty reliability and high standard of character along with eagerness to continue theory and practice of nursing in conformity with acceptable standards is the need of hour. Since all people do not bear these qualities those get admitted should try to develop these qualities and those fall short may be asked to withdraw.

GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

A 3 1/2  years, General Nursing and Midwifery Course if offered. This course is recognized by the Punjab Nurses Registration Council and India Nursing Council, starts in the month of September every year.

ELIGIBILITY

AGE: Candidates seeking admission to G.N.M. Course must be unmarried girls with minimum age requirement 17 years on 31st August.

QUALIFICATION

The applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized University Board in India security not less than45% of aggregate marks.40% of aggregate is for S/C S/T candidates with science subject will be preferred. Preferred. Punjabi as a subject in Matriculation is compulsory. Candidates must be domicile Punjab.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING

The candidate must apply on the prescribed from appended at the end of this prospectus in their own handwriting along with D.D. of Rs.200/- drawn in favor of Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation Ludhiana. The following documents should be attached with the application:-

  1. Photocopy of the birth certificate of matriculation /Higher Secondary Examination certificate as a proof of age (2 photocopies)

  2. photocopy of certificate of the qualifying 10+2 examination details marks (2 photocopies)

  3. three passport size photograph affixed on the space provided on the form

  4. photocopy of the character certificate from the principal of the institution last attended.

  5. Punjab domicile certificate attested by 1st class magistrate.

  6. SS/ST certificate attested by 1st class magistrate.
