From the Director's Desk
It is a matter of great pleasure for me to release this newsletter of Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation, G.T. Road, Ludhiana of year 2004. The Institution, which started functioning in April 1984 has grown into an comprehensive cancer treatment center and is one of the primer institute in the North. The center has 300 bedded hospital backed up by the latest state of art diagnostic and treatment facilities in oncology. The hospital is well set to initiate bone marrow replacement & stem cell rescue following ablative bone marrow chemotherapy. We have already installed High Dose Selectron and 3D treatment planning system in the department of Radiotherapy. It is one of the complete & highly well equipped unit in the region for rendering almost all type of radiotherapy.
With the blessings of our chief Patron Sh. Vidya Sagar Oswal & his family. We will soon have new IMRT facilities too. Other departments are also going ahead by addition of latest technology like all types of endoscopies, minimum access surgery, balloon therapy for endometrial ablation, hysteroscopic procedures etc. The institute is unique to have additional facilities of treating all type of aliments, mass causalities& epidemics etc.
Academically it has become one of premier institute in the north for having Post Graduate courses in most of the specialties and large number of post graduate have cleared their exams.
The management plans to have new OT, ICU block, College of Nursing in near future & face lifting operation of the hospital has already started. The charges have been reduced, the poor and needy patients are being given free and concessional treatment.
I express my sincere thanks to all my colleagues and the management cooperating with me in updating the center and for getting state of art facilities for treatment of cancer & other diseases.
